The Pig and the Ham Sandwich
Do not let a famous name sway you into believing they know truth just because they are famous, and starred in a Great Movie, or TV show, or because they sing the most beautiful songs. Their celebrity status does not automatically place them on the right side of any issue. Nor, does it make them smarter than YOU the fan who helped propel them to the riches they have. They are not anymore, an expert on politics than any of the rest of us, just because they can act or sing.
For example: Just because an actor played a role in a movie about HAM, or just because he or she enjoys an occasional ham sandwich, or, just because the actor once visited a petting zoo that had a baby pig, does not necessarily mean that he or she is now an expert on hogs. Nor, does it mean that he or she has ever, or will ever know how to tell a good hog from a bad one.
Now, owning an expensive registered pet, potbellied pig, that the actor keeps in a $100,000 jewel laden pen, with a solid golden gate, and with a self-cleaning poop pen toilet, does not count! As that still does not mean that the actor is an expert on swine. Nor, does it mean that he or she will ever know anything at all, about pigs.
Although, maybe, at some point, the actor may have played role as a hog, and if he or she played a really great role as a pig ( the oink oink type), and even if he or she won a shiny golden award for playing a really good, or really bad pig, Well….then….aaa…No! That still does not mean that they will ever know anything about swine, or the swine ways
Remember, that these people are normal (well mostly normal) people, who happen to have a gift. A skill to entertain us everyday people, by pretending to be someone they are not.
Like in the movie, that stars the perfect and beautiful mother with the perfect figure, that lives in the perfect home, with the perfect kids, and the perfect handsome dad, who is in the perfect profession, and drives a shiny brand-new car. Well guess what, she is just pretending. They are all FAKE! They are Jesters! That is what they are paid to do. To pretend.
Or, the beautiful, super skinny super model, with huge breasts, and perfect hair, nails, and makeup; in super tight curvy sexy black leather pants; With the legs of a cucumber, and the arm thickness of a carrot; not only chases down, but also takes down and knocks out; a giant 240 pound scary faced bad guy (carting a machine gun and a huge knife); with just ONE, very very very, fast spinning high split kick, to the face, of the 6 foot tall ugly bad guy, using her shiny 6 inch spike heeled shoes.... she kicks away the gun and the knife, and knocks him out cold, without even breaking a sweat, or a nail. FAKE!
Or the brave Mercenary that flies in a helicopter, leaves it running and runs into the jungle and single-handedly rescued 10 American soldiers that were guarded by 100 or more bad guys in a jungle prison camp. Our hero escorts all 10 of the rescued troops into the helicopter crew cabin, then grabs a Light Anti-Tank Weapon and fires it from inside the cabin towards a heavily armed force of charging bad guys that are shooting large caliber bullets at the helicopter. Luckily no rounds hit the helicopter engines, or our hero, or any of the rescued troops inside the Helicopter. And even more luckily, none of the soldiers sitting directly behind the LAW received any fatal burns to their faces from the tremendous fiery back blast (that occurs when you fire a LAW), which was aimed directly to the faces of the rescued friendlies. FAKE!
IT'S HOLLYWOOD! The masters of fake and pretend, They entertain (us), the people that pay to see them! That's what they do! And they are good at it! Because we are humans, and we want so much to believe that a little piece the character who inspires us, who we watch, love or admire, in that great movie, actually exists somewhere. Maybe a little, in us.
I once listened to a main news outlet conduct a serious discussion about wall-street corruption with an actor who played a role (in a movie) about wall street corruption. He is a great actor and his responses to the important questions by the reporter sounded very legitimate, very convincing. I could not believe what I was seeing, and, after I stopped Laughing, I thought out loud, All he did was read lines from a script on a page and has a little stock!! He is an actor! You moron! what the hell does he know about corruption in wall street!?
But, in spite of their incredible talent, OUTSIDE OF THE SET, they laugh; they cry; they eat, and they have to sit on the pot, just like the rest of us non famous people. But more importantly, what this also means, is that any political point they defend or argue, is just their own personal opinion, no different, or not any more valuable, or creditable than yours or mine; just because they once played a great part in a movie.
Without celebrity status, what they say would mean absolutely nothing. Those 4 or 5 nuts on morning TV that make you laugh and make you believe that they know what they are talking about, are not any smarter than you. What they say is just opinion.
Before you agree with their points of view, You should watch and listen to the antagonist points of view from the opposing shows, and the news networks you don't like (the ones you hate), so that you can determine if their opinions/arguments have bias, agendas, half-truths or is just a complete lie.
And for all of you Great Super Stars
You have sung so many beautiful songs, and made so many beautiful movies. Where after so many years, have been, and are still buried in my soul. I do believe that in my young life, the profound inspiration from the love, bravery, and sorrow of my favorite movies and songs helped to shape my life. Yet, It is likely that at least one half or more of your fans are conservative and I suppose that you have realized by now, that you can lose thousands maybe millions of your fans, in just one single stupid thoughtless moment, with just a few spoken words, that took only a few seconds to say.
Those fans worked hard to earn the money to buy or pay for the movies that helped to put you in a sky of stars, sop you could live like a king or a queen. So don’t make part of your fan base so angry that they will throw out your video CDs (like I did) and no longer buy or watch any of your movies. Be sensitive to that other half of your fan base.
Express your opinions politely with the same respect that they give to you, All may not agree with your points of view, but most all will respect your right to have them. THAT is what America is all about, the freedom to express your beliefs, and to do, or say, or think and as you choose without fear of harm or insult from anyone, much less the people you admire and pay to watch.
You must decide who is more important: A room full of hateful buddies in the awards auditorium, or the millions of fans that put you there. If someday, you find that your mansion bills are beginning to pile up, you may need the other half of your fans, once again.
